OBJECTIVE:  
To ensure the effective operation of Database Software and access to application data.  To plan for and recommend, Production, Educational, Development and Disaster Recovery Database environments.  To configure Database Software, Tools and Utilities.  To plan and install, verify customization, maintain and carry out problem solving for all supported databases on all supported platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Development and Maintenance of Group Database Environments to support the Business Applications.  

• Contingency and Capacity planning of the Group Database Environments.

• Provide strong Technical Guidance to the department.

• Communicate with Vendors and Key technology leaders to ensure the implementation of cost effective and relevant technology into the Group’s Database environments.

• Development of Policies, Procedures, and Standards for deployment and use within the Database Environments, maintaining Group policies and standards.

• Communicate with the Senior Managers/employees internally and externally to ensure that the Technology being developed for the Group conforms to the business requirements and delivers expected Service Level Agreements.

• Ensures that the knowledge base required to support the Implementation of Database technologies is maintained at the highest affordable level.

• Ensures that adequate teamwork and empowerment is utilized in the development of the Group’s infrastructure.

  
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: 

• Bachelor of Science Degree Level - or equivalent IT program.
• Over 5 Years IT experience
• 5 Years specific exposure to Database systems.

Applications are invited for the position of P.C. SUPPORT (CONTRACT) in the Information Technology (I.T.) Unit.

DUTIES &RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful applicant will assist the Systems Analyst in
maintaining the Bureau’s information systems including networks and databases, with an emphasis on basic computer maintenance, networking and troubleshooting.

The incumbent will liaise with the departments in meeting
and determining their computer needs and must have good interpersonal skills, be flexible and willing to assist in a variety of work situations.

The individual will be responsible for day to day computer
maintenance and Web Page Design (Basic).

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

The successful individual will have, or at least be reading

for, an Associate Degree/Diploma or equivalent in Computer Science/Information Technology and certification/experience in A+ and/or Network+ or hold MCSE/MCSA Certification. 

A minimum of two (2) years relevant experience is essential.
